U14 Boys Crowned SuperLiga Champions

Lincoln U14 Boys Celebrate their SuperLiga Championship win

Lincoln U14 Boys Celebrate their SuperLiga Championship win

The Lincoln U14 Boys coached by David Ortiz and Mike Kumar, secured the Classic Gold SuperLiga championship last night (Wednesday June 12th) in a tough encounter vs the number 1 ranked, and previously unbeaten Coventry, at the wonderful Burrillville-Gloucester complex.

If the first half was tight and cagey then the second was the total opposite, with Lincoln pinning Coventry in their half for the duration. The Coventry GK was placed under constant pressure but was equal to everything thrown his way, making save after save. Half way through the half Lincoln were awarded a free kick, some 30yards from goal up stepped Ceaser to fire in the kick and after a ricochet or two the ball nestled in to the bottom corner and the crowd went wild!

Lincoln continued to push for a second right until the final whistle but could not manage to beat the in-form Coventry GK.

A great final, and a well deserved win. Congratulations boys!

Joe Taylor’s Lincoln Revs shine at Memorial Day Tournament

Lincoln Joe Taylor Revs U12's excelled over Memorial Weekend

Lincoln Joe Taylor Revs U12′s excelled over Memorial Weekend

Joe Taylor’s Lincoln Revs shone over the memorial day weekend. After a tough opening loss against America FC the boys bounced backed to finish 2 – 1 over the weekend.

In their second game they defeated West Warwick 5-3.  Goal Keeper Mitchell Windsor had a great game with help from a strong defensive unit (The Iron Curtain) consisting of captain Matt Keenan, David Idaragga, Julian Silva, and cousins Kobe & Matt Carvalho. Our forwards, once they got the taste of scoring, unleashed a five goal fury against a powerful West Warwick team. Two strong sets of mid-fielders constantly put the opposition under pressure. One line was led by Alex Lopez (center mid),Tysson Sangermano (left mid), and Dylan Polion ( right mid), the other line was led by Spiros Revis (center mid),Aidan Stem (right mid), & Matt “Lope Dog”Lopes (left mid).  Quinten Fletcher & Brendan L’Esperance shared duty at the striker position doing a nice job of pressuring the West Warwick defense.

In the third game ” The Iron Curtain” and ” The Greatest Show on Turf ” combined to defeat Smithfield 6 – 0 with six different players scoring the goals. The teams unselfish play and team unity really started to develop by the third game. Coaches Fletcher, Lopez, Lesperance and Carvalho were impressed by the fact that a lot of the boys had never played together before yet played like a true championship team.
