We will make every attempt to have trainings even if it rains. The deciding factor is usually the condition of the fields and if there is lightning present. A decision to cancel is usually made the morning of and sent out via email and Facebook. If trainings do get canceled due to rain, there is one rain date added to the end of the season.

Little Lions Training typically runs from 1st week of April thru 1st week of June; registration occurs in Feb/Mar.

The Recreational program emphasis is on fun and getting children interested in playing the game of soccer. All children fitting our age groups are welcome to our Recreational program. All children who register will make a team.

The Competitive program is for the soccer player who is perhaps a bit more serious about the sport and may wish to play year round. Our competitive program generally runs from Fall-Spring. Skill level ranges from premier level play to entry-level play. We do our best to allow all of our Competitive players to play on a team, but in some cases, not every player will make a team.

Fall Recreational Soccer typically runs from last weekend of August thru 1st weekend of November; registration occurs in May/June.

Games are typically played on Saturdays and Game times can range from early morning to late afternoon.

Absolutely! LYSA is an all volunteer coaching staff so any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

No experience is needed! Our Director of Coaching will provide you will guidance and materials to be successful.

Spring Competitive Soccer typically runs from 1st weekend of April thru 1st weekend of June; registration occurs during Jan/Feb. Practices typically start in early April.

Fall Competitive Soccer typically runs from 2nd weekend of September thru 1st weekend of November; registration occurs in June/July. Practices typically start in late August.

Winter Competitive Soccer typically runs from 2nd weekend of November thru the end of March; registration occurs in Sept/Oct. Practices typically start in late October.

All games will be played on their assigned day unless games are postponed by Rhode Island Youth Super Liga (RIYSL) or by the referee, due to unsafe field conditions. Game cancellations or postponements will be announced 2 hours prior to game time, on the RIYSL website and by other communication tools that maybe available.

Our volunteers, coaches and staff are the heart of our program. Whether you are a former player, parent or community member, we'd love to have you join us. Opportunities for volunteer coaches, assistant coaches, administrators, event help and general support. 

Yes, we actively pursue sponsorship to help defray the costs we incur for field rentals, uniform costs, referee and league fees, tournament fees, coach fees, etc. so that we can keep our costs as low as possible for our families, and also so that we can offer financial assistance to players in need.
